Cup and Handle in crypto

A rounded base that recovers to roughly its starting level, followed by a small shallow pullback near the rim before the breakout.

Schematic. The orange lines are the structure we require; the dashed line is the trigger a close must clear.

How FlowAlpha detects it

A rounded rather than V-shaped base, a recovery to near the left rim, then a handle that retraces only a fraction of the cup depth. The trigger is a close above the rim.

Cups are excluded from our headline track record because they were added later and their admission rules differed. The backtested figure below is real; treat it as a separate measurement from the live board.

How often it actually works

These are our own measurements, not textbook claims. A call counts as a win if price closed 5% in favour before it wicked 5% against, measured from the confirming close over the following 30 days. Everything that resolved is counted, including the failures.

Live and backtested are different populations and should not be averaged. The live figure is the one that came from calls published in public before the move. See every live and past call on the Chart Patterns board.
